Around 4pm on Wednesday, a commercial bus caught fire opposite the Faculty of Environmental Science, near the Multipurpose Hall of the University of Lagos. No one was injured, but there was tension in the air as students scampered away from the scene of the fire. There have been series of unfortunate incidents in the school during this week, according to students who expressed shock at the incident. One of the students said an uncompleted library in the school collapsed this week, and there were at least three fire outbreaks within the school premises. According to a student, just in March alone, there have been fire outbreaks at the Faculty of Social Science, Faculty of Science as well as the Computer Science department.

The Union Bank in Michika town of Adamawa State has been bombed and looted, SaharaReporters can report. SaharaReporters had reported on Monday night that suspected Boko Haram terrorists in their droves were on the rampage in Michika town, forcing residents to take refuge on the mountains. The residents, who returned to their homes on Tuesday morning, met a looted and vandalised town, with Union Bank suffering the worst devastation. Patience Kilba Kwache, a resident, said: "We returned home this morning to see that our foodstuffs had been carted away by the terrorists. We lost two of our aged fathers due to high blood pressure. A mother who murdered her three-year-old daughter following the break-up of her marriage has been jailed for life. Claire Colebourn, 36, drowned Bethan in a bath at their family home in Fordingbridge, Hampshire, in 2017. Colebourn tried to take her own life after killing her daughter but was revived by paramedics. She was found guilty of murder on Friday. She showed no emotion as the judge at Winchester Crown Court told her she must serve at least 18 years. Mrs Justice Johannah Cutts said Bethan was "a beautiful little girl who was full of life. She had everything to live for". The judge said Colebourn should have asked for help after her life became an "emotional rollercoaster" when her marriage broke down and her husband left the family home. TRAGIC: Woman Who Lost Her Two Children In Lagos Building Collapse Commits Suicide The building collapse in Lagos Island on Wednesday resulted in a mother, who lost her two children in the incident, committing suicide after she received news of the death of the children. It was learnt that she gave birth to the two children, who were between the ages of six and four, through Caesarean Section (CS). The woman and her husband live in Gambari area of the Island. Some residents of the area who narrated the incident said she bought a bottle of insecticide called ‘Sniper’. “Nobody knew what she wanted to do with the Sniper.
